Britannia Rules The Waves!!!

As my street isn't having a street party and from where I'm sitting there is no bunting in sight, I felt the need to get into the Jubilee spirit, despite the weather! After watching all 1000 boats on the Thames I decided that I could spice things up by doing my own Union Jack nail art. Hope you guys like it, it took me ages as I did it free-hand!

Products: Nails Supreme 'Nail Polish Decorating Kit'
Tip: When using Nail Art Pens, use a little product at first and then add more as appropriate. Take your time and frequently check over your work!

BBB- Bobbi Brown Bronzer

Hello, we both finished our AS exams this week so now we actually have time to shop and blog! We both went on a massive shopping spree yesterday and picked up some lovely beauty products which we've been lusting after. I apologise before-hand for the shocking picture quality as my camera is being repaired and so meanwhile my laptop camera had to suffice (and my nails are extremely chipped as I haven't had time to re-paint them, sorry!) :(

Product: Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder
Colour: Deep 4
Price: £26

I picked this up at my local John Lewis after reading such good reviews on it. I have naturally tanned skin anyway but I felt that I needed a bronzer just to lift my skin and give my make-up a boost. Please be warned that this is the darkest shade available and so if like me you have medium tanned skin only apply a little product where the sun naturally hits your face, however I like to use it to define my cheekbones.

This product lives up to my high expectations, it gives my skin a little 'boost' without looking too powdery unlike some bronzers. Yes, I agree, it is very pricey but I assure you it will be a long time before you even hit the pan if used correctly, it also comes with a mirror
and a powder puff so you can use it on go too. I found that when applying this product on my cheekbones it looked quite harsh, so to soften the line and create a more naturally bronzed look, after dusting on cheekbones blend the product softly down and out towards your hairline. When this runs out, I will definitely consider buying it again.

We'll be posting about the other products very soon

Stocking Fillers!

With Christmas fast approaching, twenty-three days in fact, it's probably about time that christmas shopping really starts to become a priority! Whether it's a sister, your mum or just a friend there is so much choice for products for gifts at a range of prices.

Under £5

Burts Bee's Beeswax Lip Balm:
£3.00 at feelunique with free delivery  This, a personal favourite, is the perfect item if you are either on a budget or want to give someone just a little gift because it is almost a neccesity for everyone to have on hand as it has such lovely moisturising properties which is specifically important at this time of year! It really does have amazing results and the natural ingredients used is another bonus.

Under £10

L'Occitane Hand Cream :

£7.50 avaliable on the L'Occitane site To be totally honest , I never saw the point of hand creams as I thought a decent body lotion would have the same effect and money should or could be better spent on other products. However, after recieving and using a free sample from a magazine, I couldn't believe how great the results were. The lotion absorbs quickly and therefore makes hands impressively soft. This travel size is a tube of luxury and makes a nice addition to any makeup or handbag.

Under £15:

MAC Penultimate Liquid Eyeliner:

£14.00 at Debenhams, currently with 10 % off- £12.60 As a staple for any make-up collection, the versatility of a black liquid liner is undeniable and this one from MAC is the perfect example with a dramatic look and long-wearing results.

Under £20

Benefit's High Beam:
£18.50 at Debenham's also currently with 10% - £16.65 It isn't diffcult to see why this 'cult product' has won so many beauty awards and why it is in such high demand. Purchasing it about two and a half years ago, I still have about a third of the bottle left and considering I use it at least once a week, this is quite reasonable because only a tiny amount of this is required to create the 'supermodel in a bottle' look as Benefit say themesleves. This is a multi- use product; cheekbones, cupid bow enhancer, eyebrow highlighter and even used to slim your nose. A truly fantastic gift for any age!

Under £25

Lancome Hypnose Drama Waterproof :

£20.50 at Debenhams with a 10% off - £18.45 Lancome, renowned for their mascaras, did not dissapoint with the 'Drama' edition of their 'Hypnose' collection. To make it even better, it is now waterproof and provides long wearing effects! This mascara offers huge length, volume and does not clump making it's more extavagent price tag a little more justified.

Amazing Round Foundation Brush!

This is the BEST foundation brush I've found to date!!! It's by Borghese and is the '104 Round Foundation Brush', it's absolutely fab as it easily helps you apply foundation to even the most awkward places (nose etc). Due to it's tapered shape it allows you to create an even, airbrushed, flawless coverage with any liquid foundation, however I use this brush with either the MAC 'Studio Fix Fluid' or the MAC 'Select SPF 15' liquid foundations, which I absolutely love by the way! As you'll soon find out MAC is one of our fave high-street make-up brands. With any brush, if you look after it well, it should last a life-time and so if you haven't already I would seriously recommend getting your hands on one of these or possibly something similar, I've been using it everyday for over 6 months now and I just love it. Quite easily my favourite brush!!

xmas must have!!

This is the limited edition 'Party Shimmer Brick' by Bobbi Brown, only available until the end of the year apparently, however Bobbi herself might decide to keep it for a bit longer (hope so!). We popped down to the Bobbi Brown concession in our local John Lewis and the lady at the counter was very helpful, she explained how it's a highlighter and can be used almost anywhere on your body (we also heard somewhere that it can be used on your feet too, a bit adventurous eh). It's so shiny and we absolutely love glitter this season, this looks great on any skin tone and just lifts any woman's OR man's spirits! This is totally on the top of both our Christmas wish lists!

Hello everyone!

This is our first post and hopefully not our last! As you can probably already see in the 'about us' section, we are two typical girls with a great love of beauty products and fashion. The majority of the money that we do have goes on make-up and clothes, I'm assuming like most girls of our age, and we're going to use this as an opportunity to share any tips or things we have learnt about the industries.

Hopefully you'll hear more of us as this blog develops!

Love,
